Colour is uplifting. Colour is life. Colour is optimistic. Colour is fun. Colour is variety. Colour is happiness. Colour is Mandarina Duck.
We can go on and on about colour’s importance within the Mandarina Duck DNA, but what could be better than showing how we have collaborated with a creative talent who’s possibly just as colour-crazy as we are?
Olimpia Zagnoli is an Italian, Milan-based graphic illustrator who’s been making waves worldwide with her strong yet playful visuals in contrasting colours. She has designed multiple magazine covers for The New York Times, illustrated for Italian newspaper La Repubblica and iconic US title The New Yorker, French magazine Psychologies, among other big-client work, and also sells her illustrations as artwork in their own right.
For Mandarina Duck’ s fall/winter season 2015, she came up with a kaleidoscopic optical illusion design that is a profile of a woman’s head, but also looks like a multi-coloured camouflage print.
We’ve applied this print to our LOGODUCK line, light and resistant trolley, and also to our REVIVAL line, wich is based on our eco-compatible research, resulting in the use of materials like a fabric is made of recycled plastic bottles (PET), which has a distinctive texture reminiscent of bubble wrap, handles are made of recycled bamboo and zips from regenerated leather.
The bags are collapsible, shrinking so that they take up no space at all and so you can take them anywhere – perfect for an active individual who wants to be flexible and quick.
These Mandarina Duck bags are lively and colourful companions with an Olimpia Zagnoli touch, for anyone who wants to stand out in the crowd.
