Mandarina Duck’s travel philosophy encompasses much more than the practicalities of packing. The experience of any trip, be it a long relaxing holiday or a quick city visit, is tied up with all of our senses.  This time, we focus on the sense of taste.

We all have to eat, and when on location, what could possibly be nicer than getting an authentic taste of regional specialties and delicacies?

Mandarina Duck’s home base of Milan, Lombardy’s capital and Northern Italy’s most important city, is one we know every nook and cranny of, so in terms of culinary experiences we could give you a long list of our favorites. But we choose here to introduce to you a new gem, one that hasn’t been left unnoticed by one of the world’s most discerning design and lifestyle titles, Wallpaper*. Carlo e Camilla – new to Milan’s restaurant scene – was one of the runners-up in Wallpaper*’s annual design awards.

The beautifully designed space in brick and raw cement is placed in the unlikely location of a now-defunct sawmill, but its industrial look with pieces of Ron Arad and Ross Lovegrove does not take anything away from the very sophisticated dining experience, courtesy of chef Carlo Cracco.
