Biography
Born in Seoul, South Korea, in 1977, She came to Italy at 24 on a scholarship to study fashion design. She obtained a degree from the Institut Marangoni and completed her Masters at the Domus Academy. She has worked as a designer for Mandarina Duck since 2006.

Where do you find inspiration for your projects?
Jae Yun You
Metamorphoses ... Beginning with an object, I transform its form and function. It becomes not only a functional, but also an emotional piece. By satisfying a need, I create form and function.

Are your collections the result of ideas, dreams, or...?

The bags that I design are the results of my creative search and are often extensions of the existing form, like the pouch of a kangaroo, which is perfectly integrated into the shape of the body.

Each detail on my designs has a precise meaning, and not only a decorative function. The bags, with their sophisticated forms, reveal their beauty the moment they are worn. Mandarina Duck is an intelligent, beautiful woman...my bags are not only aesthetically pleasing but also respond to specific style needs.
